Stagnant 04:09
"Stagnant" Music by Nathan Whittle and Taylor Pine. Lyrics by Taylor Pine. VERSE 1 It's midnight again I know I fucked it up this time It plays on repeat in My head all of the time Is it too late? To go back and try to make things right And say I'm sorry For what I said that night PRE CHORUS And I've never felt so alone Laying here With thoughts like sticks and stones Waiting for the end CHORUS I can't stop Won't stop Stop remembering The good vibes Fun times Why did it have to end? Memories, I find Are the safest place to hide Slow down Hold on Don't want to let it go Wrong way Come back Caught in the undertow Motionless in time Our memories left behind VERSE 2 I didn't want to tie you down No, I didn't want to hold you back It was a month today, since you walked away And I don't think I'll ever feel comfortable with the fact That I lost faith, didn't want to have faith I wasn't in the headspace that night No word that I said Came out right PRE CHORUS And I've never felt so alone Laying here With thoughts like sticks and stones Waiting for the end CHORUS I can't stop Won't stop Stop remembering The good vibes Fun times Why did it have to end? Memories, I find Are the safest place to hide Slow down Hold on Don't want to let it go Wrong way Come back Caught in the undertow Motionless in time Our memories left behind BRIDGE Don't let go Just hold on Déjà vu I miss you

"Snakes And Ladders" Music and lyrics by Taylor Pine. VERSE 1 She had a poisonous mind But she had something That I craved all of the time She left me feeling empty Just like my thoughts Best left behind I had to let go So I could feel alive again PRE-CHORUS It used to hit me in waves Sometimes it felt like I was drowning The struggle took its toll on me It was not the end of me My eyes are now wide open And I'm moving forward CHORUS Now it's all over And it's plain to see That I'm better off She's just another fish in the sea I've done my time Now I'm doing just fine And I'm moving on Yes, I'm moving on Finally VERSE 2 I was cold, awake and alone Just me, my skin and my bones At 3am, too many times I couldn't find the strength to fight Her venom running through my veins I held on So I could live my life again PRE-CHORUS It used to hit me in waves Sometimes it felt like I was drowning The struggle took its toll on me It was not the end of me My eyes are now wide open And I'm moving forward CHORUS Now it's all over And it's plain to see That I'm better off She's just another fish in the sea I've done my time Now I'm doing just fine And I'm moving on Yes, I'm moving on Finally BRIDGE It's all in the past And I've never felt better Never looking back 'Cause I'm happy in the present Now that I've left it all behind I can live a better life I've learnt a life lesson Hit the ground running Now I've got a new direction With open eyes I can finally See what's in front of me CHORUS Now it's all over And it's plain to see That I'm better off She's just another fish in the sea I've done my time Now I'm doing just fine And I'm moving on Yes, I'm moving on Finally

Ending Theme 04:22
"Ending Theme" Music by Taylor Pine. Lyrics by Taylor Pine and Matt Rowlands. VERSE Lifting off the dead weight To find my escape To that perfect place Crushing thoughts Empty space With my own hand I'll find my way No more feeling out of place Break the cycle of abuse and pain Take flight against the falling rain Chasing dreams Falling flat on my face A familiar scene But a lesson learnt, I know Play the ending theme Roll the credits, say goodbye Farewell, it's time It's hard sometimes To stop the decay in my mind This is my ending theme CHORUS Take me back to when nothing ever mattered To a time before my head was fucking scattered I'm broken and trying to put myself back together Yeah, I don't know where I'm going But I know where I've been And one thing that I know for sure It can only get better from here VERSE 2 Now, I know The pain is only temporary And I know The grass is greener where I'm heading I'm gone I'm letting go this time Moved on No longer gonna hide Break down The walls that kept me here The walls that kept me here CHORUS Take me back to when nothing ever mattered To a time before my head was fucking scattered I'm broken and trying to put myself back together Yeah, I don't know where I'm going But I know where I've been And one thing that I know for sure It can only get better from here BRIDGE Trying to put my self back together Life can only get better from here Take me back to a place in time Where the vibes were good And when things were fine I keep telling myself It can only get better from here CHORUS Take me back to when nothing ever mattered To a time before my head was fucking scattered I'm broken and trying to put myself back together Yeah, I don't know where I'm going But I know where I've been And one thing that I know for sure It can only get better from here (And now I’m chasing dreams This is my ending theme)

A note from Taylor:

Slow Descent - Snakes And Ladders 🐍

Release date: April the 6th, 2018 ✔️

Snakes And Ladders is a personal story of love, loss, and the mental struggles of grief, acceptance and moving forward 🥀🌩

Those who know me well will know that this is a musical journey so personal, it almost didn't get finished.

From late nights alone, unable to sleep at 3am, writing with an acoustic guitar, paper and a pen, to demoing the songs in my home studio, to drawing up a super crappy artwork concept that was made incredible by the amazing Jordy Hooper, to carefully producing, engineering, and finally, mixing and mastering the songs in the studio with my good friend, the talented David Venter, so much energy, love, care, and hard work has gone into crafting this release.

This has been my passion, my love, my everything for the last 12 months, and I can quite confidently say that it is by far the best thing I have ever done. This is close to my heart and is something that, even if I never do anything musical again, I will be able to look back upon in the future as an awesome achievement in expressing my emotions via songwriting.

I am extremely proud of what we as a band have been able to accomplish with "Snakes And Ladders" and I can't wait for you all to be able to hear what I've been hearing in my head for the past 18 months.

❤️
